Cheeky 2012

So, Meghan (the inquisitive one and "Da Boss" on the left - note: not w/ a "Y") asked the question, "So what's the deal with the monkey?" Of course Dave had no good answer, nor access to www.wikipedia.org at that moment, (NOTE: You MAY read my title page for MY origin at anytime as well at www.FUBARHQ.com/CheekyMAIN.htm) BUT in the meantime here's some more nerdiness just for you Ms. Meghan - here you go - I'm an off-shoot of "The Flat Stanley Project" (which Dave had been involved in a couple prior) that was started in 1995 by Dale Hubert, a 3rd grade teacher in London, Ontario, Canada. Meant to facilitate letter-writing by schoolchildren to each other, kids document where Flat Stanley has accompanied them. An exercise to allow students to meet and make new friends, they create paper "Flat Stanleys" (FS) (representative of the Stanley Lambchop character) and keep a journal for a few days, documenting the places/activities in which FS is involved. Each student's FS and its respective journal are mailed to other people who are asked to treat the figure as a visiting guest and add to his journal, then return both after a period of time. Well Dave decided to just do it by himself and meet all the new people (sometimes in "old" places) and see the new places (w/ "old" friends!) (Coincidentally, the project has many similarities to the travelling gnome prank...)
